Soundmagic PL30 (BLACK) Earphones IN-Ear (OVER THE EAR) $18 FS

I have the Soundmagic E30 and feel they delivery great sound for a very affordable price. I wouldn't hesitate buying another pair.

These are the older PL30.

Wow, these bring back memories. Great earphones for the price, mine are 3.5 years old and still going. Definitely not for bassheads but they produce a nicely balanced, spacious sound.

I also have these. I haven't used them in a while, but they are amazing for the price. Really nice sound and really comfortable.

If these earbuds create great sound for the money, how much extra sound quality are folks getting when paying $100+ for their earbuds, unless its only driving more bass.

some unfortunate soles are born with golden ears and they can differentiate the finer nuances among the high end earphones and low end. They have to go through extreme training of carefully listening of countless hours before they can do that.

But for rest of us, we could be happy with cheaper ones

P.S. I downgraded from Monster Turbine Copper Pro (a 399$ IEM) after using them for 2 yrs to brainwavz M4 ($30 in a deal), but believe me its not such big downgrade in sound as its price. I can sometimes feel some difference in some songs but its not significant, they are good enough too.

I had the PL30 for about 2 weeks before giving it to my cousin. This earphone CANNOT be worn without the earglides, it simply doesn't stay on without the glides (big problem for me since I wear glasses and the phones are over-ear wear only). As far as sound quality goes, my Vsonic GR07 that I currently own blows them out of the water. There is a lot more clarity across the spectrum and the bass is actually there. It should be mentioned that the PL30's instrument separation and sound stage is superb, you can tell where each sound comes from with relative ease. Also, it doesn't take countless hours to tell a difference between this and one of the "better" headphones; it is in no way to say the PL30 are bad, they are excellent for the price. When you have "better" headphones for awhile, you get used to the sound it makes and yes listening to something like the PL30 will sound "different" but not bad unless it's one of those ipod stock buds. Personally, I think it's a waste for someone to get good phones unless they can sit down in a relatively quiet environment and just enjoy music, you concentration has alot to do with how "good" the music sounds.

Well, I don't know much about the PL30, but the E30 sounds great. I was actually thinking of buying the Vsonic, but for an additional $130 of sounding greater, Im quite happy with the sound and price I've paid. Im sure if I listen to the Vsonic, they would be awesome, but not somewhere I'd want to an extra $130 in too.

It really depends on how much you value music, the GR07's sound hasn't changed a bit since the 2 years I've had it. Honestly if you really really enjoy music and their accurate production, $100+ is a worthwhile investment considering quality headphones last years. For people that never heard anything besides cheap $5 phones from supermarkets the PL30 is going to be a revelation to them (depending on music genre). Start small, don't just go buy expensive headphones that someone reviewed because you may not like the sound or your ears simply can't tell the difference.

Maybe it just depends on the shape of one's ear or maybe the tips used, but I used to use mine without the ear glides because I found it more comfortable and they stayed perfectly in place
