if you're going to throw out numbers like that, properly link some credible references.

i'm not invested in anything. i just know that the "L-AA" series of these ratchets are made in Taiwan. and I spent a lot of time in Taiwan and other countries in the far east for many years. and I still have friends, some who own and operate factories, from Taiwan that I keep in touch with. no one is saying a factory worker there is making bank there, but Taiwan is a country with decent labor standards and everyone has health care now; they are not cranking out these ratchets out of sweat shops with slave labor. It particularly irritates me when folks confuse Taiwan for China; it just reinforces the stereotype other countries have of us; that we're a bunch of self absorbed geographically ignorant bunch.

Bottom line is, this is a good deal, decent quality product, buy it while you can.

Doh! I had it added to my cart, then I decided to read the three pages of posts (Or stupid rants) here, Bam..OOS.... Sigh..

Does anybody else have horrible luck with the cheap raised panel 1/4" drive ratchets? I have never had one not break and the last set I bought had it broken on arrival. It is not the end of the world since you can just hand them it for exchange but it is amazing how many I had to do that for. I do have the this polished 1/4" drive and it has only seen light work but works perfect. For the price this set is great.

yeah and they feel terrible in your hand. they HURT when you want to really torque something down tight. I wont buy them
