From the little research I did a stove specifically designed for propane will perform better than a natural gas stove adjusted to burn propane. In any case I don't think I would consider propane, if for no other reason than I don't want another one of those big ugly propane tanks in my yard. For what it's worth it was worth all the while

Imagine me as a homeowner with an underground oil tank, and if it every needs to be replaced, it's my understanding my Township has now instituted that all tanks replaced must be above ground now. That means I must have a 250 gallon tank sitting on the side of my home or on my back patio; where it is able to been seen regardless of placement. Placing it on the back patio makes the most sense, as the oil lines get a direct run to the oil burner. Placing it on the side of the home, makes the oil lines work harder during the winter to pump the oil to the burner, and makes it less efficient. We have a fenced in yard; we would need to put a gate in to put it on the back patio; and that would look like shit back there (as well as remove some of my garden); but efficiency wise; would be the best location; probably on the corner furthest away from the sliding glass doors that come out to the patio. It's a no win situation for us Also, imagine if you live across the main road from me, your oil tank would be 500 gallons above ground, as the homes are slightly larger, therefore, their oil tanks were double the capacity

I thought I landed a set about 13 years ago when my uncle died and I acquired his tanks. But it turned out they were probably stolen because there was no paper work or records of him having tanks. I used those until they were empty but couldn't get them filled. I'm thinking about building a cannon out of the oxygen tank. Last year though I finally was able to buy a set of tanks from a friend of mine when the family repair shop went out of business. Airgas still manages to stick it to me by charging me an annual fee that covers the inspection that is required every five years by law. But it is still far cheaper than leasing the tanks. |
