I started using Blue Buffalo after my cat got sick, and he seemed to get better. I had previously used Iams, and never realized they had changed the ingredients over time to be pretty much all corn and gluten. The only issue I had with Blue Buffalo was the price. The last time I went to Costco, I took a look at the ingredients on their brand of cat food, and was surprised to see that the ingredients were almost identical. For half the price, I now use the stuff from Costco.

I figure it's money well spent if it keeps my pet healthy. |

Does petango carry this product for cat? I have already purchase the brown rice version, but will consider grain free in future. A link will be most useful...thanks. The system is preventing me from repping you again. You have been most helpful

Just my 2c
The only Blue Buffalo I would recommend is the Wilderness version, because it is grain free. I don't feed my dog food with grains such as Purina, Iam's, etc. Grains are just cheap fillers - basically just junk food. That's why grocery store foods are substantially less expensive. Shit ingredients = shit dog food. It's best to feed raw, but I am entirely too lazy for that. I would avoid feeding my dog oatmeal. It serves no nutritional purpose for a dog. Btw, I don't think bulky is a good thing when it comes to your dog. Dogs should be lean. You should easily be able to feel the ribcage of your dogs.
Grains are not cheap fillers, that is marketing which has become very prevalent but is unfounded. They contain significant vitamins and minerals as well as essential fatty acids and fiber. Brands such as Blue Buffalo generally simply substitute a highly refined starch such as potato or cassava which contain less vitamins, minerals, and fiber. Another thing about "by-products". Again this is marketing. By-products are the viscera of an animal such as lungs, liver, spleen etc. By-products does NOT include horns, hooves, hair or scraps picked up off the floor of a slaughterhouse. Most animals actually eat the "by-products" of a kill before eating the "good stuff" because these organs are so high in nutritional value. This particular marketing is exploiting Americans preference for muscle meat, which we consider the good stuff. I'm a vet student at an American veterinary college currently taking nutrition but also love a good deal. That being said, Blue Buffalo is often used as an example of a dog food brand which is great at marketing while focusing less on the actual nutrition. |

I agree Blue Buffalo has great marketing. With the knowledge of a veterinary student, what do you consider lacking in their Wilderness formula? Specifically, the one for cats. Link to ingredients and nutritional analysis: http://www.bluebuffalo |

I ordered the cat food, Blue Buffalo Chicken Brown Rice on Apr 29. Called Customer Service on May 2, and received an email with FedEx tracking number. It will arrive on May 10, seven days after shipping date to California.
