No I wasn't saying that at all. I am speaking from the perspective of how EA views their users and by making marketing decisions on what they can and can't get away with. It devalues your game when you sell it because the next person knows they will have to pay $10 more for an online pass. It's like say you buy a new car, but you know it's value has already dropped when you try to resell it, but not there's another stipulation. Honda says that the next buyer won't be able to go over 80MPH unless they buy a $1,000 unlock kit. Some people may never go past that and say "Fine I'll just deal with it." Others will boycott or not buy it at all.

They are just testing the waters more or less right now to see what consumers will put up with it, and so far it hasn't been a problem. I would not be surprised if the online pass prices raise and this becomes more broad spectrum across other games. It's already BS enough that certain games you try to play in SINGLE PLAYER REQUIRE AN ONLINE CONNECTION.

It will all be streamed like how you get movies instantly from Netflix. I have my own MicroConsole from them and it works surprisingly well. However I don't enjoy paying like $50-$60 for a game they can remove from my account at any time they see fit for any reason (they have done this before on my account for another issue).

I don't like giving Best buy business either. but some deals you just get and move on to gaming pleasure

Almost got the Hulk Blu ray for $5 too... Missed the free shipping though and no best buy near me for 3.5 hours.

BF3 is a real joy to play. I like COD too but BF3 is by far my preference.

Worst buy is becoming Best buy again (at least for games and for now)

Sorry I oversighted your point. I actually sell used games for a living, and I have seen some significant price drops to a lot of the rare PS1 RPG games thanks to the Digital distribution on Playstation Network.

However consumers and sellers are expected to evolve with technology so if they don't know about ebay... sorry for them.

I read Gamestop won't carry the new systems if they don't have physical media and work with used games.

BB will fail on their own pathetic business model of having 20 blue shirt sales reps standing around while 3 customers walk the store.

Well I'm the "techie" in my family and I just view how other friends and family purchase media to understand how companies get away with what they do. If you make it simple enough, people will pay any price point. The iPhone and iPad have been a very good example of this marketing strategy. To have to go search on ebay, wait for a response for an online code from the seller, and then enter the 12 or 16 digit code is a hassle for most people. Not to mention it might not even be reputable or already used.

Most would just buy it at MSRP from the PS store and have it automatically done within 30 seconds. I mention my family and friends because this is the same way I see how they buy movies on demand. I have setup a server so all media could be accessed easily, but someone wanted to watch a movie right then and there for $5.99 as a 24 hour rental. I said I could grab it in less than 10 minutes and not pay a dime, but they didn't want to hear any of it.

For most SD purchases and deals it means stepping out of the way and doing "more" than just buying and clicking, if you want a REALLY good SD. Being an SDer puts you in a different mindset once you start doing some deals and hearing experiences from others.

Yeah GameStop may be the only saving force, because they are just as massive. I believe they made an exclusive partnership with a few companies to print online codes on receipts when they buy used copies of the game. I'm not sure if BF3 is one of them.
