Yeah, I bought a DV6T QE a couple weeks ago and returned it today. An Ivy Bridge and a Geforce 650 for an extra $100 is worth it in my book.

I also guess that 1 grand is over budget for some, that's why I already got a neg vote =/

The 2nd Gen I7 and 7690 XT Graphics Card DV6 QE could run Skyrim on Ultra (W/No AA) at 60fps.

The Geforce 650m is supposedly 50% better according to NotebookCheck, so most games should run at Ultra and Super-demanding games at High/Ultra.

Depends how long you want to wait. DV6's and DV7's have relatively the same price until the next gen one comes out. If you wait about 4-6 months, there may be a decent deal on them for about $700-$900.

As for other Ivy Bridge Laptops; Alienware never goes on "sale", the Asus gaming laptops will remain at $1400, there may be some competitive Lenovos for around the same price and a little worse specs.

Again, it all depends on how long you want to wait. This will be the cheapest Ivy Bridge with Amazing Specs for a while.
