Not an issue for many, especially for those looking to covert their laptop into a hackintosh, ubuntu, linux etc.. As one of the many looking to upgrade, I carry an installation disk for windows 7 /w the serial key. I like the fact that X-pc allow consumer to choose windows 7 or leave a clean disk.

i just got the dv7t i7 sandy bridge bluray 1080p 7470 graphics card for $880 plus taxes, then this comes out.
![]() HP dv7t Quad Edition Ivy Bridge Core i7-3610QM (3rd Gen), GeForce GT 630M, 1080p, 8GB RAM, Blu-ray Player list price: $1,399.99 total savings: $400 coupon code: for $400 off HP: $999.99 w/ Coupon should i return it and get this for a little bit more? ($100ish plus tax) i don't plan on gaming on it, mostly heavy photo/video editing and playing my HD movies off my EX495 server. |

i can't find any real numbers, so somebody else please chime in if you know, but i'd have to assume power usage with the 630M is going to be quiet a bit higher than the 7470m. but that's really just a guess, i'd have to dig deeper. i'm in the same boat... i just bought the same SB 2670QM DV7T with 7470m, for my wife. was 899 (-8%CB from my BoA card)... thinking about trading to this, but i don't think it'll be worth it for her uses. ROFL...
tp4tissue "Gaming is gonna shift back to pc, due to steam type services,, AND not to mention really CHEAP hardware that's at least 4 times faster than xbox "LULZ zxcvb "This does not have a regular VGA connection. This will work with only HP monitors. |

Without a doubt. Just coming from someone who has owned, sold a dozen laptops in the last two years...The 650m will make a huge difference not just in your own use if you game but in resale value. Without the 650m, in, 6-8 months, your laptop is just another used computer on craigs. With the 650m, it's a gaming laptop that will easily make up the $100 and then some. Get it. |
