wireless router
I have a netgear wireless router I bought for $50 bucks and it drops signal every 10 minutes. whats a reliable router that won't drop signals for under a 100?

Try this, download InSSIDer, and scan your area for other networks. Find a wireless channel that is NOT being used by another one. Change your router to broadcast on that channel ONLY (fixed channel). See if you still get that many drops afterwards.
http://www.metageek.net/products/inssider/ I just got a new "N" router, and mine dropped frequently until I changed mine to an unused channel. Apparently "N" routers sniff the area and change channels to find a better one. That causes issues with some laptops and routers. |

If your current router is fairly new, lets try to tune it first, its likely you have a setting problem and the hardware is not bad. This topic on routers both tuning and "What should I buy" is not new. Please do a search in this forum to start your process.
