What's the VISA link you speak of?
I'm thinking of adding this to the set...

Craftsman 21 pc. Drive Tool Accessory Set
| Online only | Sears Item# 00942283000 | Model# 42283
Clear your cookies and start here: http://usa.visa.com/personal/disc...|Sears.com then click the one near the top that says get $35 off $300 purchase when you pay with any visa card.
Sears.com opens up. Find and add your items to the cart, then continue thru the order process. Only in the step where you confirm your address will you see the discount. So don't fret if it doesn't show up early on. Disregard any discrepancy in tax computations, it'll fix itself on the next step where you put in payment info. You have to use a visa card.

damn don't need this at the moment, but really want it, even though I have a ton of tools in my garage... wife would kill me if I bought this for $250 since I already spent $700 on the 55" Panasonic Plasma at Target when we already have a 42", 50", & 65" tv...

is there anything like this but in Metric only for half the price since it has half the pieces? We own german and japanese cars and even with my existing sets (256 pc, 101 piece, and have bought some socket odds and ends I needed like 32mm and 36mm for cv half-shaft to hub but on Honda/Acura's) I've only used the metric sockets, ratcheting wrenches, and box end/combination wrenches.

err really want this.. must resist!!!drool
Autozone rents out those larger sizes. I don't figure you (or any DIY mechanic) will have to change car hubs that often, so might be wise just to rent when needed.

Got to be kidding me.
During making final checks placing the order they killed the deal
$250 off, now its $100 off.

I was also adding the nice extension set package.

Thanks for the tip on Autozone... I think my current sets cover 5mm-24 or 25mm (smaller sizes being 1/4, and the larger ones 1/2" drive.. and there is some overlap between the larger 1/4" drive and the smaller 3/8" drive sockets as well as the larger 3/8" drive sockets and the smaller 1/2" drive sockets in my sets).... then I bought single sockets of the larger ones as I needed like I think 30mm for a Camry, 32mm for Civic & Integra, and 36mm for Accord & Prelude.

Oddly enough on the BMW's everything else has broken except these. I have had to buy a bunch of extra tools for the german cars though. With my Japanese cars all I needed was metric tools and screwdrivers. With the german cars I needed hex sockets, star & torx drivers or sockets, etc in addition to the metric sockets. I've changed a bunch of axle/half shafts due to torn CV boots, broken axles, and/or clicking noises when turning. Probably a combination of driving too hard, hard launches, bad roads, and stiff lowered suspensions. Not to mention my friends come over to work on their cars since not all of them have houses with garages or the proper tools.

i'm gonna tempt you... LOL... 'cause I only have german and japanese import cars too... but i find myself using SAE size tools for non-car related stuff like the recent garage cabinets i picked up and had to assemble or toys that require assembly often have SAE sizes. but more than "when will I use that?" is knowing I will never ask "do I have that size? and do I need to run down to the store to get it?" because this set is basically EVERY SOCKET that Craftsman/Sears makes in 1/4",3/8", and 1/2" drive. If you ever need something that isn't in this set, you're not going to be getting it from Sears, you'll probably have to special order it some place else.

.
haha you're an evil man...I keep 2 sets of tools... Mechanics and socket sets I keep in my garage because I mainly use those on the cars... then inside the closet in my house I have a separate tool box for fixing stuff around the house which many include SAE/inch type tools or adjustable wrenches and such for home fixtures and plumbing. Then power tools in cabinets in the garage.

Honestly my 256 piece and 101 piece sets come with a bunch of SAE sockets and I don't think I've used any of them except the 5/8" socket for 2 things... changing spark plugs if I don't use the spark plug socket tool.. and removing or changing out the price pfister kitchen and bathroom faucet stems... all the other SAE sockets go unused.. so a metric only set at half the price would be awesome even if I had a bunch of duplicates in metric. I just don't want more SAE sockets that I won't use... a Metric only set for half the price... like 150 piece for $125 would be awesome!!!
