Personally I would get the hotel deal first (using casino player's card) then look for a flight separate. Having said that it should be easy enough to look for package deals online (and I'd try the casino's webpage first since they might list places that do just that).

Now- if you just want a decent place to stay for fairly cheap, something like a cheap deal at Ballys (with no resort fees) might be a better bet... but If you're set on one of the 5-star properties (which Ballys, while well located, ain't) then I'd recommend priceline name your own price. Do the flight separately.

Find out the lowest posted rate (check the websites for the handfull of 5 stars) then start bidding at 1/2 that rate.

If you have a strong preference for only the north or south strip 5* ones then put a bid in for that... if/when it's rejected you can wait 24 hours to try again a few bucks higher.. but the REAL trick is the free re-bids.

You can rebid again immediately for a few bucks more if you either:
Lower your star level you will take (don't do this)
or
Add another zone of the city


As you can see from the list, there's a number of zones without 5 stars at all.

So you can add one, rebid instantly for a few bucks more, and you're still only really bidding on the first zone you put in.

If you don't care about north/south (and you probably shouldn't, they're all very nice and fairly central) then add that other one first... then go from there..

You should be able to get in like 12 free rebids... so even if you only go up a buck at a time you can put in 10-13 bids per pay, after at most a few days you ought win without having paid anywhere near posted prices.

I've usually seen anywhere from 20-60% off best posted this method.

NOTE: You will not get the resort fees included for this bid and most if not all the 5 stars charge one... but that'd be true of direct booking too...this is likely 20-25 buck a day for the 5 star properties.

do NOT book a package deal. In all my days of traveling, I have never seen a good deal with a package for domestic travel. That $200 deal is awesome at Bally's but I would not recommend it for an anniversary trip unless the title of your trip is slumming it. I personally enjoy slumming it now and then but probably would not do so for a romantic getaway. I'd use Priceline. You should be able to score a sweet deal, especially if you're going over the summer.

I agree with not getting a package deal! do you have ANY players club cards. You would be surprised even if you have little play, you can often get a good room discount at Caesar's properties. Hotwire often has great prices for Aria. it is the only 5* Property on the South Strip zone that has a Casino listed. the other is THEHotel and it does not have a casino listed.

Aria is amazing. you will not regret staying there. Pools are incredible.

THEHotel is attached to Mandalay Bay, which certainly has a casino (and a pretty awesome actual beach down by the pool area)

That said, priceline'll generally beat any players club price.

Thank you for all the responses. I was kind of set on ballys because of the price but it I am wanting it to be romantic. I wanna try and keep hotel and flight under $1500 if possible.

Even though we're both pretty young (mid twenties) were not really big on the club scene. More into fun bars, gambling, pools, etc.

Do you guys think the current aria deal is pretty good? The one with the $100 credit. Or do you think I should try bidding with priceline?

Personally, I'm a huge fan of Aria. Very nice casino, good selection of restaurants no matter what your craving, good pool scene... It's the heart of City Center.

I believe if you Priceline 5-star South Strip you'll be placed at Aria, Bellagio, Cosmo, or Vdara. You really can't go wrong with any of these hotels. I've stayed at all of them except Bellagio. Vdara doesn't have many amenties... I think it has one or two bars, a market, and a small-ish pool area, but the rooms are nice. You'll forget your in Vegas at Vdara.

Cosmopolitan also has a similar deal as Aria going on right now with up to $150 credit, so be sure to check it out. Located right next to City Center, it's another solid place with a little bit of everything. Plus there isn't a resort fee if you stay there.
