Missed out last time. Hopefully this is a significant upgrade from my Nuvi 750. That thing seems slower with every update and forgets addresses when I do multipoint routing.

Wouldn't the 1450LMT I believe be better for $12 more with lifetime traffic? The screen on this one is probably bigger. I guess that makes a difference to some.

Note: This unit does come with junction view. It's pretty much everything you need as long as you don't care about traffic (which isn't all that accurate to begin with).

1490 lmt refurb from new egg or wally world seems better deal. 1490 has bluetooth so optional OII scan gauge can be attached, also traffic...

not impress with gps this day they still lag and poor touch interface, i gonna get samsung note soon far better for gps.

I need a new GPS, I haven't updated a map in years and for the cost I should just get a new one. So people what should I get.........i make long road trips and can hit traffic in chicago when going on I80 and NY, CT, and MA the area I live in always has traffic issues. So is the traffic helpful and accurate. Lifetime maps would be nice. So someone who has already done their homework let me know what to get. I don't want to spend over $150, unless someone can convince me why i should.

I'm sort of wondering the same thing. I only get Garmin's, and have two models. I bought a 1450 (I believe that was the model) last year. I have noticed it seems a little slow on the refresh, but more importantly is the screen input sensitivity. When entering street names, it frequently grabs the incorrect letter. I have to erase and try again. Didn't have this issue on previous model that was 4 years old. The screen doesn't appear as sharp either on the newer model. I would like to get another unit with 5" screen with junction view. Can anyone comment on whether this is the model to get? Thanks

Okay people - you may not have heard this before but from personal experience, generally the traffic COULD BE reliable in areas where heavy traffic and bottlenecks are not the norm, for instance in suburban and certain rural areas.

BUT - if you live in a 'megapolis' city where traffic everywhere everyday is a routine, then it is not reliable. [edit]

Once on my back from from Erie, PA to NYC I got a fit load of traffic on 80 East closer to the GW Bridge on a Sunday and the damned Garmin never warned me. Other times and places, I have seen warnings of traffic and I pulled up my google navigation on my android phone and it was showing clear green lanes, so I took the chance. Zoomed past the area in no time.

You can still use the feature but don't bank on it to get you out of a traffic mess every day of your life.

This is a fantastic GPS. I got it during the last deal from this seller at the same price as an upgrade to my 265WT. I gotta agree with the prior poster, the traffic function is pretty useless in NY. You're better off using google maps to see the traffic.

As a plus, if you have a prior model with the traffic receiver built into the power cord, you can connect that to this GPS and you will get traffic.
