I need to see the actual video, but read a couple of articles that Drudge linked to, along with an article in the CSM. Seems to me what happened is a group of students and educators decided to make a statement while a known sexually liberal and outspoken anti-"gay-bashing" activist was making a presentation. He reacted predictably, by calling their protest pansy-assed. Coming from Dan Savage, that's the equivalent of him handing out cupcakes - he's capable of far worse.
The criticism of his remarks, however, appears to be rather humorous. One of the educators who spoke up afterwards took issue to Dan remarking that his partner looks good in a bathing suit - Really? This is the worst part of the speech you can take issue with? A gay man noting that his gay partner looks good? Christ. Savage has long been known for his stance that the idea that you have protection from anti-bullying measures just because your book tells you that being gay is wrong is bullshit. When he, as a high-profile gay rights and anti-bullying spokesperson, was taking the podium it was obvious there would be dissent and offense involved - whether real or manufactured. I do look forward to watching the video, but from what I've read on both sides, it suggests this particular ZOMG reaction is manufactured. You, sir, do not have a pair of testicles if you prefer drinking from glass. |

Everyone knows that there are moral lessons in the Bible which are ignored by most Christians today. That's picking and choosing. Are you denying that? Last edited by 124nic8; 05-01-2012 at 12:34 PM.. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

He has a point. Christofacists are constantly clamoring for non-Christians to leave "their" country if they don't like the integration of god in our schools, courts, etc. and yet they claim "religious freedom" as the basis of their arguments. That would be freedom for Christians of course;screw everyone else.
I have degrees in both animal behaviorism and psychology and have come to the conclusion that animals make a hell of a lot more sense than people.
