Okay, I've done some digging and here's what I've found:
You CAN get this deal with the wildside jar. The 20% stipulates that Amazon must be the seller, and Amazon does sell a couple different wildside options. These are the 2 I see available: Blendtec Total Blender WildSide White - $427.98 [amazon.com] Blendtec WildSide HP3A Blender - 3 Qt (96 oz) Container & 4" Blade - BLACK - $454.95 [amazon.com] I'm not sure what the difference is between HP3A and the "Total" Blender, but I'm leaning towards the cheaper one unless someone wants to chime in and give me reason to change my mind... |

PS, if I go with the Total Blender Wildside retailing @ $427.98, after the 20% discount and the $50 gift for signing up for Amazon Visa (took like 20 seconds), and free shipping, my final price after everything is $292.38

3 year warranty is too less compared the costco's 7 year warranty and solid return policy. just sayin.

That unit carries a pretty weak warranty. I would rather buy one of the units with a 7 year warranty.

All blendtecs now have 7 year warranties - bought one from Amazon a few months ago, and called their CSR as the manual says 3 year warranty - she verified they all became 7 years last summer, but some of the old brochures still say 3

Is the Wildside Jar really that great? I bought the one with the 4 sided jar and it seems awesome. I asked the Blendtec guy doing the demo at Costco about the wildside jar and he said he didn't think it was any better, it really didn't do much. Maybe he was just working for the sale?

But I can say that I've researched this topic for the past couple weeks and there have been numerous accounts that the wildside jar is better at creating the so called vortex effect which sucks the food into the blade thus making blending quicker and with less need to stop the blender and manually push the food down. Will it amount to a huge difference? Probably not. But if I'm going to own something for 5-10 years and use it daily, paying a little extra to avoid this potential annoyance is worth it to me. |
