Kudos to you and all the SD staff for all the hard work.
I've been a long time lurker probably close to 10 years. I still remember my first SD at a HomeDepot where I got a power tool for a slick price. It was a slow day and all the cash register clerks huddled around me and couldn't believe the price as the manager handed me the tool. I was elated as I walked out the door.

If it was up to me, you and Craig (of C'list) would get the Noble Peace Price for all the people you have helped over the years, helping people find good bargains and making them a wiser consumer. Especially in this day and age when banks, financial industry, insurance companies, etc... are all trying to find legal and illegal ways to rip off the consumer.
In my mind SD serves two purposes:
1) Place to post great deals
2) Providing forum discussions to educate consumers on products. Many times I have learned more about the product from the forum discussions than hours of research on Google. I think the forum discussions are the backbone or the best feature of your site. Where else can you read about getting free motor oil and in the same forum hear about the maintenance history and problems of BMW cars.

Just to satisfy everyone's curiosity Mr. SD and Bryantq, can you give us a rough idea about the revenue this website generates. I am sure there are dozens of reasons why you can't reveal it but a rough idea. May be the number of zeros!! six? seven? eight? Not more than eight right?!

IMHO, SD is within their right to ban their competitors. Afterall, this is about SD, not them.

Personally, what I dislike the most of SD is their contest page. It's not fair at all. Liking to Facebook, reputation, SD veteran, time logged, referrals, deal alerts, tweets, etc give an unfair advantage to these people. A contest should be fair all across the board! No one should get any special treatment.

Hi Bryant,

I have been using slickdeals.net going on about 5 years now. I am still shocked when I tell someone about it and they have no idea what i am talking about. I think that I can help get the word out to even more people (college and up) by adding slickdeals to some events that my friends are promoting / DJ'ing for All over San Diego, Las Vegas, Chicago and more. There are some events for NoHodrink.com (hangover defense drink) and a lot more but slickdeals would not confilct with any other product promoted during these events. Let me know if you are interested in getting more attention to your site and we can start from there. There are events typically Thur-Sat but summers it is almost daily.

I hope he's making millions. Innovation has always driven this country and slickdeals is no different. If you're not the leader, then you're following. Since they're leading, kudos to them for their hard work. We should be applauding them for finding innovative ideas, deals, and the ability to profit from it. I feel they bring far better value to the public than other companies that prey on the uneducated and hapless (ie. banking)...

"Worthy" deal or "Worthy" for your profits. I don't see too many B&M deals on the FP, even if the price is insane--like free, MM, or almost free. Yet a less "worthy" deal that has a link to buy online will!!!

Care to explain yourself and give examples? We're an online site, it's natural for our focus to be on online deals. For B&M deals, our preference will be on national chains.
