I'm pretty confident this site nets at least $10k per day from affiliate commission alone
Average of 4% of every sale made clicked through this site is pure profit. Wish SD offered cash back like some other sites though, but good for Bryant.

The personal views and opinions expressed in this post are exactly that and do not necessarily represent an official opinion or stance of Slickdeals and this is a disclaimer in case I say something stupid. In fact, anything I say should not be taken seriously.

Users post content to Slickdeals, they find the content from all over so we usually have no idea where it comes from unless they happen to say so in the thread. |

How do your competitors steal content when you are stealing content- aka aggregation. I think there's a flaw in your logic. I don't mind that you made a choice. But be straight forward about it.
Just say "I want you monkeys to click our link when we steal, errr, aggregate content. The end." |

I think it's safe to say it would be stupid to direct traffic to a competing business. People complain about everything. There's being frugal, and there's being obnoxiously cheap, please learn the difference. Also if you find yourself getting into heated arguments online about things like lossless audio, re-assess your life.

Have to chime in and say great work on part of Bryant and team for keeping this site still feel like a small interactive community even though it has probably grown ten folds since I first started frequenting it. Only downside of that I have seen is deals selling out much quicker then they used to due to the number of folks jumping on them.
Secondly, kudos for the being out and open about who you are and answering the posts individually. Not a whole lot of sites allow you to have a one on one conversation with folks behind the site like this. Keep up the good work. Only gripe I have is about the free tshirt I keep hearing about that folks with front page deals have received! I have had a front page deal but no free tshirt. What gives? :-) |

Giving constructive feedback is one thing, but your post is really pathetic. How much did it cost you to join slickdeals? Oh what's that? It was free? Well then how many hours did you spend developing this site and building up the company/business model..what? none? You have no right to complain about anything that goes on here..anything you might have given to the site you gave of your own free will and even what you gave was made possible by the existing technology/framework of the site. If I ran the site I'd just permanently ban any bottom feeding ingrates such as yourself. Instead of spending all your time hating and being jealous of success, you should look to these young hard working people as a model and a hope for this country. A nation full of arm-chair quarterbacks who think they have a "right" to whine on a forum they didn't lift a finger for will be a bitter impoverished nation permanantly attached to the gubmint teat. Long live slickdeals! If you don't like it,

and they always do. I don't necessarily mind that it spreads, as long as they dont copy content verbatim. But as many others have said, we also choose not to promote our competitors. The differentiating factor is that Slickdeals has scale and size in its community. People come here first because they know that's where the deals usually start. Other deal websites don't have as large a community, and some dont even have a community at all. Those that don't have a community have employees who look for content. She is not a bot. she is a real person. She has feelings. She gets upset when we merge things wrong or do something wrong. We've tried to reach out to her and give her stuff as thanks, and she doesnt even want it. Asked why she does it, she says she does it for the community. You may say "its impossible for one person to do this" and I retort that it is... if you had the drive and effort... You can see how sparse she is with posts, and how cut and dry it is, she's got the timing down to a science, but even she still makes mistakes. Last edited by bryantq; 05-08-2012 at 12:29 PM.. |

It used to be not a week went by, then not a day, but now there literally isn't an hour that goes by that I don't use something I purchased though this site. It has saved me thousands upon thousands of dollars. I can honestly say that 75% of the items I buy here I would be purchasing anyway...and the other 25%...well...consumption is about needs and wants so who cares if I splurge on some of the wants since the needs are taken care of.
Thanks SD! |
