The lowest SD for the 2600K was $199 just 2 weeks ago at MC so I don't know why the OP is writing that it's $30 over the lowest slickdeal. It's a full $60 more money than it was 2 weeks ago:

Actually, no. MicroCenter limited the $50 combo discount exclusively to the i5-3570k. I wanted to use it for my purchase of the i7-3770k but the employee checked and double-checked, then shrugged -- normally they offer the combo discount across-the-board, but this time, it's just for the single lower-grade Ivy Bridge i5.

By the way, I have no idea why you or anyone would buy the 2500k within days of it being outdated. That's Sandy Bridge -- we're in Ivy Bridge territory now; and it IS better.

Built my rig last night; Gigabyte's GA-Z77X-UD5H is the absolute perfect pairing with the i7-3770k. You can get it at a discount for under $200 at Amazon, no tax, free shipping.

If your not going to be running anything very heavily threaded on the computer and plan on just general use such as browsing SlickDeals and playing games then the 3570k is all you need.

Not really. I'm pretty sure the Ivy Bridge equivalent can't overclock nearly as well as the Sandy Brdige counterpart.
