Thread Details

I just received mail from the Westin in Ka'anapali Maui.
the deal is for

six days and five nights in Island View studio villa at the Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort Villas

5000 Star points from the starwood preferred guest
OR
75$ resort credit for activities, dining, shoping, and spa services

AND

185$ toward Avis Car rental.

The total cost is 798$.

Seems like a good deal especially the date that I wanted to go was 300$ a night.
Though I'm not sure if this is an open invitation since the letter specifically said the name of the person on the letter have to show up and we have to call in and book. I assume that they will ask for the special code and I guess they have a list of names that letter were sent to.
so I guess its YMMV depending whether you received the letter or not. though it maybe possible for you to call and see if they will send you one or somehow offer it.

details.
Book by May 17, 2012, have 12 months to visit.
or if you don't have an exact date now, you can choose to pay 498$ now and 300$ when you made up your mind on when to go.
this offer is for 2 people.

SPG sends these deals out quite often.

You have to sit thru a Timeshare pitch but from what I have read from others it is not to hard of a sale.

This is a timeshare resort which is amazing, we stayed there last summer. I think it's a great deal just keep in mind that 5000 starpoints is worth much more than $75 cash let alone $75 in inflated resort stuff. I thought there was a resort fee but not quite sure. I am sure the presentations will be low key at least as far as timeshares go...enjoy if anyone does this!

That is a good deal, but nothing out of the ordinary for timeshare presentations. My wife and I stayed in Ka'anapali for our honeymoon in June and stayed next to the Westin. Very nice resort. Hilton constantly calls us with this same offer to try to get us to come to Maui and stay for half price as long as we listen to their presentations. If I could find a cheaper flight to Maui, I'd take them up on their offer, but from Nashville, I'm not getting a cheap Hawaiian flight anytime soon.

I did this once a few years ago and I still get invites. The timeshare sell was not hard at all and lasted only 30 minutes. I almost felt like I was missing out on something.

I didn't know that it was a timeshare thing but if it's like what others are mention, 30mins to 1 hour isn't so bad for all the saving.

I would totally jump on this deal if the summer plane tix price is feasible....
around july its almost 1k roundtrip ... from sfo... flying to oahu is much cheaper than going to maui...

If anyone found a cheap flight to Maui from the west coast, let me know!!

I just did this last month. First time to Maui, this place is amazing. I don't beleive this is open to anyone, however. You need the invitation I believe. Also, my time share presentation wasn't required, but I opted to do it for ANOTHER 7500 points. (mine was 7k points with 185 avis coupon). Overall good experience, it was a hard sell however. Sucked almost 2 hours of our time. Ended up going for the explorer package at the end, but ended up cancelling that as well when I got home and did more research. Would love to do this again! go for it! doing the marriot ocean club next year, similar deal, but not as good.

does the invite have a phone number to call and/or a promotion code to mention? I am a starwood preferred guest member and may have received this mailing, but I usually throw away a lot of their mailings without looking. Interested in this deal since my fiance and I are planning to go to Maui for our honeymoon.

The number for this offer is 800-278-1488. M-F 8am-8pm

The offer is called "Maui Experience"

I dont see a promotion code except a specific preferred invitation # that I think is unique to the account.

hopefully you guys can call and get this offer. quite a deal, granted you don't mind the 30 mins of timeshare presentation thing.

Not really seeing how this is an amazing deal but it's nice to share. I have Pricelined 4* and 5* Maui resorts multiple times for $120 (just got back from the Hyatt in Ka'anapli down the road from the Westin resort villas). Based on my bid, the price for 5 days would be $725 including taxes and fees.

OK, I was there recently, having received this offer after staying there last year. Last year's offer was very similar, but with 7000 points. It's a beautiful place, especially very family friendly. You do not have to do a timeshare presentation as part of this deal. We did it anyway for additional 7500 points, but it was 2 hours with one salesman and I wouldn't do it again! Units have kitchen facilities to cut some food costs.

This is unique and you can't get it unless you get an invite, not a deal for everyone.
