Got the striped one awhile back. Our dog likes it but one of our cats LOVES it...

I bought the striped bed for my Whippet/Pit mix. She loved it at first, but it very quickly flattened (she is only 35 pounds). Also, the bottom of the cover is made from some sort of mesh, not the comfy material that the top is made from. She easily tore through the bottom material of the cover just from moving her bed around and trying to fluff it up, and over time the cover wasn't even able to cover the pillow anymore because the mesh had been torn so much (and was so easy to tear). Now it's just a white pillow (no cover) lying on the floor, and it is also made out of the mesh-like stuff. She tore through that too and is quickly de-fluffing the pillow. Every day, I come home to find more green fluff that's been ripped out of the remaining pillow.

Now, I know this makes my dog sound like a terror, but I bought this bed to replace a bed my parents had given me when I first got my dog. It was a used bed and was ugly, and I wanted something to match my living room. Well, my dog is back to using the ugly bed, which is at least sturdy and made of a thicker material, and she hasn't been able to (or tried to) chew through that original pillow, no matter where she moves it to in the house.

I other words, I don't recommend the striped bed. Save your money and invest in a quality bed.

We purchased that blanket for our Italian Greyhound a few months back (I think from TJ Max or Marshalls), and it's held up pretty well. I also purchased that house thing, except from CVS on clearance in a different color. It's very very thin, and not held together well (just weak velcro straps). It'll be fine if your animal has no sense of exploration, but mine was a puppy who loved to explore, with a penchant for shredding everything, so it wasn't long before that house was a shredded pile of foam pad and fabric shreds. I wouldn't bother with it really, unless you know your animal is very docile and just wants their own space that isn't their crate.

We only have a 26 pound beagle and we don't let him destroy stuff. It doesn't have a ton of padding which is probably the biggest knock against it I'm guessing. I just bought the $40 memory foam pet bed from ebay because my wife and I are going to kick him out of our bed. The striped bed is just for the living room and like I said, it gets used mostly by the cat. For $10 it ain't bad. You could spend a couple bucks and put some sort of mattress pad cut to size on the bottom side which would add a little more structure to it if you were so inclined.

Good info... I need to replace their kennel beds... They are not trusted to roam around at night alone... If they get bored they do start chewing on stuff & will eat cloth & other stuff... They usually don't chew on their kennel beds... They just like to scratch on them before laying down... I think I am going to give these a try... Planning on getting 3 dog houses & 3 pet bed's to get to the $10 for $50 Kohl's cash deal...
