I picked up 2 of these yesterday to boot CM7 via micro sd card at $125.00 + tax each with a staples coupon but I'm wondering if I shouldn't have picked up the Nook Tablet instead. Any opinions as to which is more stable with CM7 on it booting via micro sd card, the Nook Color or Tablet? As a side note the Kindle Fire is out simply because there will be quite a few movies on it and I like the idea of having the extra space for storage.
Also can anyone provide a link to the latest, most stable version of CM7? It would be very much appreciated.
Thumbs down for using this magic 25 off 75 that not everyone gets.
Not "everyone" "gets" everything! But just about ANYBODY can get one of these coupons, codes just by asking or searching. That is what this site is all about! I paid less than a buck for 2 of these coupons and they both worked! Not fair to issue a thumbs down over this
If this were the Nook Tablet you'd be on to something. The color? Not so much.
Respectfully, I disagree. I own the NC, not the NT. That said, my NC is rooted with CM7 off an mSD card. Easy peasey lemon squeezy to do, and no risk of bricking the thing. The display is beautiful, too.
The NT isn't so readily rooted, especially off an mSD card. And from what I've read, if you do root it B&N my effectively undo it.
I grant that the NT is a more powerful device, and if you want only to use the thing with the stock OS then the NT is probably worth a bit more than the NC, but for my money, the NC is the bomb.
Thanks for the help. Looks like the Nook Color will more than meet our needs. The tablet would have been $50 + tax more than the color and I really don't want to take the risk of bricking the tablet. Thanks again.
i just got my nook color delivered today, cost was $169.00 - $20 instant coupon + 1.79 pencilset - $30 off $150 = $120.79 plus tax $7.25 total of $128.04 also $0.79 to e-junkie for the 30 off 150 coupon, and i still think i did pretty good, and will be attempting to root soon

lol so true. im a med student working in the hospital wards and Ive been using my CM7 nook color for reading textbook pdfs on rounds for the past year now and i wouldnt have survived without it. fits perfectly in my white coat pocket too definitely recommend this device for the price
Can they display compiled HTML files since lots of digi books (esp medical) are in that format? I don't want to have to print to PDF.

Nook Color (refurbished) + free new Nook Simple Touch for $135 on Ebay seems to be a better deal. Sell both for profit and rebuy a new Nook Color a Staples and you'll still be way ahead. It's just too much work.
