Anyone have the New Balance 2002 running shoe?

Are they worth the price? They are very expensive, retailing at $264. I have a pair of 993s and they are awesome. I got them half off (about $79) and bought 2 pairs.

The 993s are made in America. The 2002 are also made in America and are called the "Rolls Royce" of running shoes.

I found them at 40% off ($160) which I still consider very expensive, but the reviews are very good on them.

I am not a runner but I am a gym rat. These shoes will be for work where I am on my feet all day.

I have no experience with these shoes, but I wear Asics Gel Kayano 17 at the moment for the gym and they are very comfortable. I also noticed that most of the trainers at my gym wear Asics. Just like you, I have the 993 that I wear for everyday casual wear and have been wearing some form of that shoe for at least 10-15 years. The Asics are definitely more comfortable and "cushier" than the New Balance and may be worth checking out.

I know the Gel Kayano 17 and now the 18 come in wide, since I need wide as well. The only issue is that the Asics wide isnt available in all colors. I also heard that the Gel Kayano 18 runs a little narrower than the 17, so you might need a 4E.
