Sony HT-CT150 3D Sound Bar System $230, Sony HTCT550W 3D Sound Bar Home Theater System with Wireless Subwoofer $330

Anyone have any experience with these? I have a bedroom plasma that is just using the stock speakers for sound. I don't need surround, I just need better audio quality that doesn't have such a muddy "midrange" sound.

If you're patient you can usually score a better deal at Fry's on a decent soundbar. I bought my Panasonic HTB520 for $167 but they were also selling the Samsung HW-D550 for the same price. Also the CT150 soundbar is super short at 31.5" so it'll look weird under your tv unless you have like a 32". If you have a 42-47" a ~41" soundbar would look best IMO.

I have the HT-CT150 in the living room of my house. It actually sounds a lot better than our LG 55" 5600 TV speakers. It doesn't emulate 5.1 that well, but it does sound pretty good given how small it is. Also it has plenty of HDMI and audio connections, way more than any soundbar in the $200 price range.

Voices are very clear, and has a okay mid-range. The highs are good, and lows are covered fairly well by the sub. Don't expect amazing audio. Its not going to deliver that. The boston Acoustic soundbar sounds better, but only has two connection, optical and stereo rca. So if you want purely audio quality, check out other soundbars as there are that sound better. If you want plenty of connections, and okay sound, go with the Sony.

I got this for $215 at amazon Fall of last year. I would say it can definitely be had cheaper if you look hard enough. $230 isn't a deal..its the normal price these days.
