E3 2012
————————————————————————————————————————

2012
June 4—7 at the Los Angeles Convention Center
The 18th annual Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) is the gaming industry's ultimate trade-show spectacle where new consoles/handhelds/peripherals and blockbuster games are shown off for the mainstream. The rivaling conferences and their reveals are the main attraction - while demos and interviews fill up the rest of the week. The mecca for any gamer.

What to Expect
————————————————————————————————————————

Last year saw the debut of Nintendo's next console, the Wii U, with it's touchpad-hybrid controller and a stronger 3DS library; Sony's packed PSP Vita showed favorably; and Microsoft woke up the Master Chief for a new Halo trilogy and unwavering Kinect support to grow its casual audience. Bioshock Infinite won "Best of Show [gamecriticsawards.com]".
The "Big 3" are expected to reemphasize last year's highlights. Wii U should be launching this Fall and both handhelds need to prove themselves in the encroaching smartphone market while rumors have Microsoft deep into their Xbox 360 successor for as early as a 2013 launch, there are no plans to unveil it this E3. Bioshock Infinite was delayed to early 2013 and will be skipping this E3, leaving the door open for another.
Games confirmed as per IGN: http://games.ign.com/articles/122/1224202p1.html
