It is pretty thick for an LED but it's not edge-lit. It's direct lit (full array) but with less LEDS to make it cheaper. Very thin bezel though. No swivel stand and no internet. Just a basic LED 60" tv for a good price. Also, it only has TWO HDMI ports.

I checked it out in the store and it was pretty nice.

I just moved near a Fry's, so I don't want to jump the gun on the first deal I see. I'm looking to get a 55"-60" TV and don't care for smart TV's or 3D, but wouldn't mind spending up to $1700 for something close to top-of-the-line that won't need to be replaced for 3-5 years.

For a 60" LED TV, this is one of the cheapest I've seen for a 2012 model. If you don't mind spending more money, there may be better top of the line tvs though. For a Samsung tv, it's a pretty good deal. The next cheapest 60" tv is the Sharp for $1400. If you're looking for a 55", then I've seen the lower end TVs go on sale for $899 but that was a 60 Hz LG 55" LED TV.

Best part of samsungs were their designs, and this one looked like a cheap bargain model in person. The panasonic ST30 series is a better bet for you and similar price. Also many sharps and LGs are in the $1200-1800 range and will give you more for your money.
