Well....ours isn't too bad of one, we have a 4 year old, and try and get there when they open at 9, because by 11, the plae is getting packed. The bathrooms are always clean, the pizza isn't the best, but it's edible and could be worse, the wings are frozen obviously, but not too bad, and we always have a heck of a time for around $40. Glad to see the newest batch of coupons, since I'm pregnant and due in summer, no summer vacation this year, so we promised one or two chuck e cheese trips. Never tried the salad bar though many people do...I feel like it would be obvious to tell if your food had been dropped on the floor and swept up, dirt, hairs, etc... I imgine some places probabibly do do icky things, but really...it's not right, and any manager that tells you to do that, should be reported anonomyously to the health department.

I'm calling shenanigans on this entire story |

First off, he admitted to working there. His appearance either doomed him to backroom work, or he was dumb enough to willingly work at a CEC for minimum wage, when there are so many better jobs out there for high schoolers. A person that dumb would have no problem serving paying customers floor-sweepings, or digging in the trash at the order of his mentally-challenged superior. He seems proud of his story to this day, and being paid $4.25/hr means he's old as hell. He's had plenty of time to reflect upon it and become ashamed of it, instead he relates it on SD as if we'd approve of it somehow. He's more than likely some still some human stain sucking unemployment or disability, getting back whatever he thinks society "owes" him for being such a farking waste. Or perhaps he's still whiling his years away at some similar job making...whatever minimum wage is nowadays. As it is, he's reliving his glory days of high school with strangers on a CEC thread. Money frees you from doing things you dislike. Since I dislike doing nearly everything, money is handy.

I may not have a clue how much a pizza cost, but I know that it's hundreds of times more than the "cost of rolls of tickets". LOL! Anyway, 5 to 6 workers working the kitchen (professional chefs or not), the register, and serving food versus just you the highly-paid CEO (Chuckie Engineer of Operations) fixing, resetting games, and clearing jammed tickets. (FYI, you get paid by the hour NOT per jam cleared or machine reset; unless, I'm wrong and you get paid on commission-basis per incident). ![]() You also must have forgot about the upfront cost of establishing a kitchen to "cook" the food (installing the hood, ovens, fryers, refrigerators, salad bar, ice machine, water supply, plumbing, etc.) and the power it takes to run the kitchen 24 hours a day to keep the food fresh. Don't forget if something is in need of repair in the kitchen, I'm pretty sure you, even as talented a CEO as you were, wouldn't have been able to order a part and fix it. LOL! ![]() So let's say all things being equal, the fixed costs for kitchen versus the gaming area are the same. Let's just focus on the variable food costs vs. variable costs of repairs and maintenance for the games: Pretend in a year, $100,000 in food sales - $40,000 for the cost of food vs. $100,000 in tokens sales - $10,100 [ ̶$̶1̶0̶,̶0̶0̶0̶ ] in parts and maintenance (almost forgot to add the costly rolls of tickets) Which item generates more income? ![]() I, too, love watching people with no common sense commenting on how they love watching people with no common sense agreeing with their no-common-sense selves.

When I was under 20, I respected my elders, my superiors, and helped those who could not help themselves. Since I was old enough to count money, I worked 40 hr weeks, counting 12 hr shifts during the weekends, in my father's convenience store. In that same time, I pulled straight A's and earned free rides to three top tier schools after high school graduation. I can be acidly critical because while my upbringing may have been harsh and missing the freedom enjoyed by the typical youth, I never took it out on anyone. I sure as hell never foisted floor sweepings on the unsuspecting public. My karmic payback has been a life I wouldn't trade for anything else in the world, and comfort beyond what many 99%ers enjoy because I work hard, and play an honest hand in life. Now, GrandPaPa, what if you took your grandchildren to CEC, or any other establishment, and found out after the fact that a paid employee had compromised the integrity of your food by spitting in it, or worse? Would you let it slide that he got his kicks scaring your kids when you weren't paying attention? Would you be mad that he posted it online for all the like-minded to enjoy? Would you rush to their aide when some one called them out on it? Last edited by shadowhsc; 05-04-2012 at 10:47 PM.. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() "$2.00 cents" to make a pizza is still > $0.000001 "cents" for each ticket on a roll! You are right; I definitely lose the no-common-sense award. ![]() ![]() A Business degree from CEC University is reserved only for the minds of the best and brightest 1%.

Don't you know, people flock to Chuck E. Cheese for the high quality food!
![]() CEC Entertainment Reports Financial Results for the First Quarter 2012 [corporate-ir.net]
Games (52.5% of Revenues) and (6.9% of Operating costs) vs. Food (47.0% of Revenues) and (24.3% of Operating costs).
Apparently, workers cost more than the food. Who would have thunk it?! Certainly not the minds of the best and brightest 1% of CEC University. ![]()
