blahhh had to pay texas tax but whatever, worth it
i think so, yes. if you have a basic understanding of your home network. 1. fairly easy, it will pull DHCP from your router and you would navigate to this IP in a browser for configruation 2. yes of course 3. yes 4. id go with foscam 5. it can send email and save to a share on your network or you could use software to interface with it for more control over recordings Last edited by hightop32; 05-03-2012 at 04:36 PM.. for iOS the app will be "LiveCam Pro"
and for the price of a foscam, i would go for 2 Wansview for the same price http://www.ebay.com/itm/Wansview-...27c5c2d288 Wansview could be a complicate to set up, but little google search everything make sense
I got a dig bick,.....
you that read wrong. that awkward when you read that wrong too. And said "moment" after awkward. this is awkward.. |

Anyhow, we love the older model as a baby cam. It is very convenient and really brings a lot of pleasure to see our little guy whenever we want. It's also nice that one of us can watch the other one when we are reading or playing in the room with our son. I'd highly recommend getting a video monitor and I also recommend Foscam. We have really enjoyed ours. I also wanted to add that it is possible to setup multiple access restrictions on these. I have it setup where certain users cannot move the camera (mother-in-law while visiting). I also setup a dynamic DNS (dyndns.org) to view the camera over the internet. The camera also has uPNP which can automatically register the port forwarding with my router. I think its better to do a static IP on the camera and manually control the port forwarding, but too much info already. In addition, there is some info on the net for using VLC to stream the feed from Foscam to your DLNA compliant devices. So you potentially could pull up your camera on your TV as well. I have a sageTV setup, and it didn't work well enough to show to the wife so I abandoned it. Last edited by bond226; 05-03-2012 at 05:24 PM.. |

As far as apps with the older model, I can confirm that IP Cam Viewer works great on android. I bought the Pro version and audio works on the older model Foscam but the sync is off, so its pretty useless for real time audio - this is a known issue with the older Foscam. I can't remember which app we primarily use for iPhone/iPad, but if you search the app store for Foscam, there are at least 2 free ones that work well. I think they are Cam Viewer and Live Cam, both should be free versions that work very well with video but not sure about audio.
