psychonauts is pretty fun. definitely worth $2. pretty old game though.

I'll also vouch for Psychonauts, which was a lot of fun as a somewhat nontraditional platformer. Generally fun gameplay with just a bit of frustration at times, plus a great sense of humor. I've played it three times since it came out to give you an idea on the level of replayability. Thumbs up.

Costume Quest is an awesome game.
Looks like the PC version also includes the Grubbins on Ice DLC pack. |

Where do you see these requiring steam? I do a search on the product description pages and "steam" isn't used anywhere.

I know most people will be interested in Psychonauts for $2 (and rightfully so), but Costume Quest for $3 is absolutely worthy of a purchase. Traditional turn-based RPG gameplay with a unique and humorous story. I love how your character's costume determines your move variety during battle. Fun little Halloween-themed title. |

Psychonauts is one of my very favorite games -- great writing and art direction. Look up the Zero Punctuation review if you need a kick in the right direction (don't do the thing with the pencil, it bloody hurts)
Costume Quest is essentially a stripped down RPG for 10+ kids, but it is also quite funny. I played it through in about six hours, plus there is a DLC episode which I haven't worked on yet. I haven't played Stacking yet (traded a spare CS:GO beta gift for it the other day), but given Tim Schafer's previous work (these Double Fine games, Full Throttle, Grim Fandango, etc), it's probably pretty good as well. The only game of his that I'm on the fence about is Brutal Legend -- I have it in my PS3, but haven't finished it. So far it is OK. |
