Sets were expensive as a kid too. I remember using up a lot of birthday and christmas money on aquanaut and spaceship sets.

I have to agree with others, the price is crazy. I remember Technics being about $60 for a super cool helicopter with spinning blades, retractable wheels, etc and I thought that was a lot.

The reason this is so much money is because of the licensing. If it's $320, I fully expect that George is getting at least half of that.

Let's face it, the cost to produce this is about $10 in China.

People can spend their money how they would like though.

I do not think you understand what goes into producing LEGO. It is a massive operation with expensive dies, quality control, automation and distribution. Unless you were just trolling with that figure, expect it to be at least 8x-15x your estimate.

Let's face it, you don't know much about Lego. Lego bricks are not produced in China. If you want to buy cheap crap made in China that doesn't build very well, you'll find lots of less expensive offerings from Mega Bloks and Kre-O.

While I admit that Lego quality is not what it was 10 years ago before they started outsourcing manufacturing to Mexico and the Czech republic, it's still miles ahead of anything others are making in China.

Oh yeah, and I bought the UCS R2-D2 and Super Star Destroyer today to get a couple TC-14 figures and posters. Gonna be a happy Father's Day. Now to get some Mother's Day shopping done so I don't get in trouble.

I'd love to get this for my kids (or myself for that matter). But it's just too much $$ (not saying this isn't a good deal) and don't want to spoil the kids anymore than they already are!
Funny thing is, my kids (and I) got hooked on a set of Megablocks that he received for his B-day. Now 10+ sets of lego's later, I'm picking out all the Megablocks and putting them aside. The quality isn't the same, they look kind of dull and shitty next to the Lego's.

Hey, does anyone know what qualifies for that free lego minifig and poster? Can I buy some superheroes stuff and get it, or does it have to be all star wars??

Thanks...I had no idea these things even existed. I'm going to set an alert. I don't own any of these (obviously) and if I were to start, the falcon looks like the best to get. It includes han, leia, chewy, obi, darth AND luke with the training helmet. Really seems like a no brainer.

Was the super star destroy suppose to spear head planets or something? Why is it so plain?

The poster and the promo minifig are still automatically added to the cart when you buy the Superheros LEGO, so long as you have $75 worth to qualify for the TC-14 minifig.
