Yes. Someone more motivated by compassion (emotion) is by definition more irrational that someone that is NOT motivated by compassion (emotion).

Someone more motivated by fear is by definition more irrational that someone that is NOT motivated by fear.

Someone more motivated by anger is by definition more irrational that someone that is NOT motivated by anger.

Someone more motivated by sexual arousal is by definition more irrational that someone that is NOT motivated by sexual arousal.

So if we want to test other emotions we need more studies. On the subject of compassion, the religious are more rational.

no, the study wasnt on what people were more compassionate, or compassionate at more appropriate times. if you meant on the subject of prosocial behavior, youd have to consider what other motivators there were, but thats not what the study was about.
