good deal for a class 10

Got this for a friend who's going to use it to transfer big videos and files to a tablet. Can't find reviews for this outside of Newegg. Still, a good price for 32GB class 10.

It should be also noted that we do not know if this card has the fast Random 4K write speed ( > 1.5MB/s) which makes the SanDisk C4 great in cellphones and tablets for OS usage, whereas others (such as Patriot C10) will have ~ 0.001MB/s

The Samsung 32GB Class 10 micro SDHC card at Fry's (product link [frys.com] and discussion) has fast (Class 10) sequential write speed (for fast bulk file/video transfer) and fast small block random write speed (for running OS/Android/apps off the SD card, something that this Samsung card, and SanDisk cards are famed for). The G.Skill has fast sequential write speed but random write speed is unknown.

If you read NewEgg and Amazon reviews, some brands of Class 10 micro SDHC cards are notorious for early failure. In fact, I would not buy any memory card without a good reliability history. The popular Samsung does not appear to have any report of problems. There's only 1 month worth of overwhelmingly good customer reviews for the G.Skill on NewEgg but there has been no report of failure.

The Samsung card was $33 with $2 S/H or free in store pickup and did not sell out for day, which was a first for that card on Fry's despite being cheaper than previous sales. I ordered mine on April 30, 3 day after the price drop. The price has since gone back up. The Samsung will replace a SanDisk Class 4 micro SDHC card on my Nook Color. The SanDisk is good for running CM7 and apps on SD, but it takes forever to write videos to the card at barely over 4 MB/s (over 1 hour for 16 GB).

Saw this on the newegg email newsletter as well. Seems like a good deal. Class 10 and superb quality. I am willing to pay extra for the better performance and reliability. Got 2.
