Extender Converter 30-Pin Adapter for iPhone, iPad, iPod @ $1.99 FS

I have a thick case and cannot use the USB/SD card adapter with it. The regular data/charge cable works just fine. I will keep this extender on my adapter, that way I won't have to take the iPad out of the case. And no, my case is not "shit"...

FYI I don't think these will pass audio.. Meaning it probably wont work with audio docks. If it does it usually will mentions that.

It only charges and data sync. Which they did mention.

There are quite a few docks out there (Wadia 170i, for example) where I can't find *any* case or cover that doesn't stop the iPod from making good contact.

An extender might also let you put an iPad into a dock that was designed for an iPod, but I haven't tried this.

I have a spare battery / charger for an Ipod Nano. But when plugged in it blocks the headphone jack. This should solve the problem.

With some cases for the iPhone and iPod (Touch) you can't "dock" the device in to certain docks (such as a Bose SoundDock) with the case on. The case either makes the device too wide to fit in the dock or the device won't sung down far enough for the 30-pin connector to make a connection. This device extends the connector so that the thickness or width of the case is no longer an issue.

Not for everyone but for many people this makes things a little bit easier.

I don't think this would work with an audio/stereo dock because the phone would hinge off this adapter.

Hmm it does state "This 30Pin adapter passes all functionality through to your iPad, iPhone & iPod." Hopefully this will pass through audio since I have a Scorche adapter for my car and does dock well with my case.

do you recomend a good cheap usb/sd card adapter? i know there was a slick deal on here a while ago for a cheap one.

I have something similar to this. made by another company, and it works on the docks as well as FM transmitters on the ipod. So yeah it passes audio.

In for 5. these things are too handy to not get a couple (and the one I did buy was like 14.99.)

haha! I just had the mental image of an iPad sitting on some teeny iPod dock as a result of one of these connectors.
