Really wish I liked the style of this as I've been trying to get a cheap peacoat for a while now - keep missing out on the excelled one. Thanks anyway, good deal for those who like the looks of this.

This isn't a real peacoat, just a canvas jacket cut in the style. If you want a real one, which is fall/winter wear, you're better off getting a Schott or Sterlingwear discounted at Burlington. This is nothing in comparison.

True to your name, I am "Taken Aback" by your choice of words. I certainly wouldn't say this coat is 'nothing' in comparison to other pea coats.

It just depends on what season you are buying these coats for. I bought the Excelled Pea Coat in the last JCP sale (RP518-4934D) which was very thick and warm, great for winter, but I certainly wouldn't want to wear it in Spring or Summer night weather.

I would have liked the khaki or navy, but that olive color is atrocious.
