this is a good reciever but the deal was up for MAYBE 30 minutes.
Yeah, yesterday's deal of $180 for the 1612 (5.1) and today's deal for the 1712 (7.1) have both gone pretty quick.
But there appears to be quite a few deals flying around for these Denon AVRs, thanks to the newer models hitting the market. So for anyone who missed out, keep an eye out and pounce on the next one since they've been short-lived.
Thanks for posting this, coolpez. This deal sold out incredibly fast. We may even be oversold by one or two units. But don't worry, if we can't fill your order with an AVR-1712, we will offer a free upgrade to the AVR-1713
No I believe regular MultEQ does actually have a sub filter. I believe is is the same sub filter as the XT. The 2eq doesn't have a sub filter. The main difference between multeq and multeq xt is the number of filters used on the surround speakers is 8 times greater on the xt and there are 2 extra listening positions taken into account.

Thanks guys. In addition to what was shared above, I had done a bit of digging and it seems to boil down to this:
"The key difference is the resolution of the filters. MultEQ XT can correct much finer details in the response, particularly in the low frequency range of the satellite speakers."
I was curious cuz I had purchased the 1612 earlier in the week (I have a 5.1 setup) and was curious how much I was losing out on with the 1712 XT capability. Seems like more of a nice-to-have, but like most everything else it's certainly subjective & depends on the level of audio enthusiast.
