I believe it's 6 month.

Also, apparently if you have a Chase checking and also have Chase Freedom credit card, you get 10% more cashback Smilie
can you open more than one account have the daily balance amount sitting there and close them in six months? :-D

Got in on the no direct deposit required one by guessing the coupon number because I got tired of waiting for this one to pop back up. Anybody know if PayPal will count as direct deposit, or has that been stopped?
The terms specifically say: "Your direct deposit needs to be an electronic deposit of your paycheck, pension or government benefits (such as Social Security) from your employer or the government."

You have to deposit at least $100 within 60 days of opening the account. Once you do, they will credit your account with the $200 bonus within 10 days. Account must be open at least six months or they will deduct the amount of the bonus from your balance. Only one bonus allowed per calendar year.

Also note the bonus will be reported as interest income for tax purposes.

I have this offer in the mail often, haven't done it yet. When it expires, they send me another one and keep trying to tempt me. IDK if it's worth it or not, since I'll have to keep a close eye on my balance to make sure it doesn't fall below the minimum.

You need $1500 average daily balance (if you dip below just 1 day, you will get charge a fee) or have direct deposit of $500+/month to get it free. Otherwise, you will a maintenance fee.

I don't think this is right... if you have more than $1500 in your account (say $2000) then you could potentially have a few days where you could get away with having less than $1500 in your account. It's not as if you dip below for ONE day and you are automatically charged the fee...

Average daily balance, not minimum daily balance.
you can dip below and still not be charged as long as you average 1500/day
I know because I have account with $15,000 average daily balance requirement and I have dipped below many many times.

Edit:
Option #1: Have monthly direct deposits totaling $500 or more made to this account; OR Option #2: Keep the daily balance in your checking account at or above $1,500; OR Option #3: Keep an average balance of $5,000 or more in your checking and other types of qualifying Chase accounts.

looks like this account is $1500 minimum balance, $5000 average balance.

put in $1500, earn $200, close account in 6 months. You just made 13% non-compounded interest in 6 months, with no risk! Think of it as a CD that you can only do once and for a fixed amount.

It's for new customers only. Cancel your account and then open a new one with the code.

Why would you do the $5000 average balance instead of the daily $1500 balance?

I mean, what is the diffrence between average balance and daily balance?
Because if you already have a Chase Account with 5k or more which I assume quite a few amount of people do, you don't have to worry about the maintainance fee.

Not available in my state due to no branch location. I'd have to drive to another state and open in person Smilie

But it doesn't say average for the $1,500 requirement...only the $5,000 one. The $1,500 requirement just says daily balance.
