I went ahead and picked one up. It is amazing to believe that 8gb isn't enough... Who knows when I'll get it, but it will definitely expand the storage in my current phone and my eventual new phone.

We are heading to disney and I'd like to take videos of us riding the rides and wrap the phone around my neck. What could go horribly wrong.

I recently bought (2) SanDisk Mobile Ultra 32GB micro SDHC cards (Class 6, UHS-1) for $30 each from J&R. Price has since gone up to $35. My routine for each new card is: Flash Memory Toolkit: Low Level Read, File Read/Write, then CrystalMark 50MBx1, 100MBx1, 500MBx1, 50MBx1, then FlashBench from USBFlashSpeed.com (similar to ATTO, 16MB down to 1K R/W), then h2testw, then maybe SD Tools on a Samsung Vitality phone. Do note that my Asus netbook's built-in Alcor SD card reader (with internal USB 2.0 interface) maxes out at 18~20 MB/s w/CrystalMark, ~15MB/s with h2testw.

Good 4K write, but results are very unsteady, Flash Memory Toolkit Low Level Read graph is very jagged too. Not sure if the card tries to adjust to previous I/O pattern or cheat on benchmarks

A microSD card is for mobile -- OBVIOUSLY -- and no mobile device will even come close to pushing the limits of a Class 4 card, let alone Class 10 (and corresponding real-world speeds). And no, you won't be transferring files through a separate card reader all at once. Plus, your card reader is USB 2.0, right? Think about that.

Yes that is correct. He said Nerditude Cant find the meaning as Webster said he couldn't find it. But I'm pretty sure he just told me I take really good care of myself

I went to Knotsburry farms when I was 11 and was on a ride that a little girl lost 4 fingers on sliced them clean off. Blood got all over my shirt and on everyone else by the time the ride was over. They comped our whole vacation package, from what I was told. Feel terrible for the little girl. She somehow got her hand on top where the wheels role over the cable and clean sliced them off when it went over it. Photo booth wouldn't let anyone take home the pictures of them on the ride as it showed blood all over people shirts. So worst case scenario... you could lose your camera

let me state it in plain english

sometimes class4 is better than class 10 - not all sd cards are created equal [xda-developers.com]

if you the geeky kind

sandisk branded class 4 cards are BETTTER at accessing memory at random pointer locations, then class 10 kingstons and patriots
so you are comparing apples and oranges
when an operating system is looking for a file, it has to jump to that location, that jump has to be fast to read that file
class 10 is good when you are using a DSLR i.e. writing a huge file in fraction of second, but its not designed for random access, because there is not need for it to do so

use crystaldiskmark and find out for yourself, how your own cards behave

i bought this exact card from the exact link a few hours before the OP posted it (was surprised to see it front paged as i didn't think a few dollars less than the going price would make it so)

it arrived about 12 hours ago, but i just got around to testing it a couple of hours back.

and what i got was a dud.

it looks like a real sandisk card, and it seemed to work perfectly as well, since my computer could read and write a bunch of files to it.
but after removing it and re-inserting it into my computer again, the files would disappear.

i tried formatting a couple of times with different methods and each time it would take about 30min to complete, but before ending there will be an error message.

a software i used to try and format even labeled it as a Generic Multi-Card....

so anyway, i don't know if i'll get any replies... but did anyone else get a non-working card as well? i wouldn't care if it was fake and worked, but this sucks..

guess i have to return it

I've seen card errors caused by micro SD to SD adapters that have a loose micro SD slot. You may want to try using another micro SD adapter (or a card reader that directly accepts micro SD card). Try another card reader (or another computer with a built-in card reader) if you have one, just to rule out possibilities -- I have two no-name card reader that are bad.

"Generic Multi-Card" is probably the name assigned to the card reader.
