HP Touchstone $33 @ Amazon FS

If you have an HP TouchPad this is a great accessory. Highly recommended.

The regular charger is still just 5$ from a week ago.

TP fever is over, so 33 for a touchstone is kinda high. Should be 15-20$

For the dense, I was making a comparison in that a $35 item was priced down to $5 last week at the HP store, and it's likely a Touchstone might be too in the future if they come back in stock like these chargers did.

Sure is dumb in here, not sure how some of you manage to save money on anything.

Except this is anything BUT a regular charger. Even with the 'regular' HP charger being discounted, it's still just a basic AC-USB adapter. The touchstone though is somewhat unique device, specifically for the Touchpad.
After they dumped all those HPs on the market last year, I'm actually surprised the price for Touchpad accessories didn't go up and stay up for some time. Except for specific stores when they stop carrying an item like this, I wouldn't expect bargain basement prices any time soon (like about when we're feeling the need for a tablet upgrade...)

Being able to use the Touchpad on the stand is just one of the benefits. The main one, IMO, is not having to deal with the charging cable, both plugging it in every time you charge and especially having it laying around and everything that happens to loose cables when not being used (falling behind the desk, cabinet, etc.)

HP has not had the Touchstone at any price for more than two months. I've been watching because I want a second one for my office. I have all the TouchPad HP accessories and this is my favorite one. I have not been able to find one other than Ebay. It may not be the best price ever but they are in stock and eligible for free shipping. A $20 dollar price tag may be great but it is worthless if there is no product available. If you do not have one I'd hop on it. I'm off to Amazon to order mine.

To those that have one already, is it possible to have the Touchpad plugged in via USB while charging on the Touchstone? (if so, what orientations?)

I realize this sort of defeats the purpose, but I'm interested for 2 reasons.. 1. The touchpad is very picky about which USB ports (if any) will charge it.. requires a massive 2.2amps of power that even my desktop USB ports won't provide. Would be a nice trick to charge while transferring data and whatnot.

2. Would it charge any faster being charged via USB AND via charging via Touchstone simultaneously I wonder? Doubt it, but it's possible. Depends on how it's wired internally..

Don't you have WiFi File Explorer or something like that on your TP? With Touchstone and a WiFi file transfer app, there is no need for USB connection. Touchstone charges TP slowly but who cares. Put the TP on it overnight and it will be charged by the morning.
