Picked this deal up. The case is enormous compared to the size of the camera. Completely useless to me.

Anyone having problems with their camera? I tested my 300 ELPH HS today, it's fine when taking pictures but when I record videos and put them into my computer it gives me this weird error looking pixelated video. Is it because my microSD card is too slow? It's just a regular microSD card, it's not even SDHC. But, I googled it and people say you need at least a Class 6 or something? Anyways, here are some shots of the video erroring.

P.S. This camera is extremely small, a lot smaller than I thought from watching YouTube videos.

This camera rocks. There are hundreds of reviews for it. Many accurate ones on amazon. The only thing that does not rock about this camera is that the screen is quite fragile. More fragile then a 3g/4g type cell phone I would say. Mine cracked with minimal pressure on it.Unlike a cell phone though it only cost $28 to get a new screen and install yourself so not too bad I guess.

That looks like a playback error. Try getting this:

looks like a playback problem but either way, go with a good class 10 card, they're not expensive and you'll avoid any HD recording issues

I just tested a video from my RED camera (Made in China), and played it in my laptop

It was not as loud as in this video, but it does have a similar noise when you do a video and zoom in and out, test it out on your camera.

Has anyone noticed similar problem with "Made in Japan" copy as well.

I'm going to head back to bestbuy to get a Made in Japan copy tomorrow.

I want to know it too before I pull the trigger.

I'm not familiar with the SD780, but maybe this will help a little if you know the difference between a SD780 and SD940 ?

My made in Japan does this also when recording in a quiet room. It is the motor noise that is doing this. It is louder zooming out. I am keeping this camera cause it takes much better pictures than my Panasonic DMC ZS3. The videos look excellent also.

I've got the red, China version. Same noise, soft noise while zooming in, slightly louder out, silent room. If this is the worst problem I discover, I am keeping this camera also. Some other point and shoots that I looked at in this price range can't zoom while taking video at all, and I don't imagine it will bother me too much as I probably won't zoom out while filming much, but we'll see.

Can you guys hear autofocus doing its job at all during video? I understand zoom noise, that's pretty acceptable.

I'm still waiting on mine, hopefully it'll arrive tuesday (free expedited shipping).

I just got this front page deal from Amazon $10.49. 16 GB Class 10

I have the red one from BB, also made in Japan. I can confirm that it make some motor/clicky noises when zooming in or out when recording a video. It seems more apparent with zooming out.

For anyone just tuning in, I will record this post with my Canon PowerShot ELPH 300, and upload the video on youtube. This will show you the 1080p video quality, or any zooming noise it will make. I'll post a link of it after it's done uploading.
