have the 100hs but wanted to give some praise to the anker batteries as well. bought some for my moto triumph and they work great. would not hesitate to use an anker battery in my elph.

Bought one of these about a year ago for $240, excellent camera for what it is. Love the size, I never leave home without having it in my coat pocket.

Add in a eye-fi card and you can wirelessly sync with your phone too which is too cool.

I was actually looking for a slightly more upscale camera but this fit all the requirements and was also the smallest and cheapest. My father has a high dollar DSLR but I wanted something he could carry like a wallet as the DSLR is like carrying a small dog, and that my mother (techno-illiterate) could also use when they go on treks together.

I've been using dpreview.com for a decade now for digital cameras. I think it's still the most comprehensive site.

The biggest complaint people have about this camera is that you can't manually set some of the more advanced settings, so I would call this a point and shoot in a good way and a bad way. The auto settings seem to perform very well, so for an intermediate or even a pro-am this is good enough for those day-to-day shots.

Turn on time with this camera is also very fast, something I think is key for catching those fleeting moments, stuff you'd miss with a big camera that turns on slower.

Picked a black made-in-Japan one in Tustin, CA today. The surface takes some getting used to and the case is too big as said before. Otherwise ok, but I was turned off when I figured out that you cannot charge the battery inside the camera using usb... what were they thinking?!

Went to pick up mine in store after purchasing it online and they could not find it in the pickup area. It was sold out in that store so they offered to arrange to ship it to me. After a few minutes of making calls, the associate says they can't ship and would I mind picking it up at another store. She also discovered in the process that there are other customers due for pickup who aren't going to get their cameras either

I hope I don't get a run around at the other store later today!

I read somewhere that USB charging off a standard computer USB port would take too long. Canon decided that if they're going to provide a beefier charger, they will provide an external one.

On the positive side, you can use it to charge a spare battery while using the camera

can you link me to the Anker battery for the Galaxy S? mine galaxy S battery does not hold the charges very well anymore.
