Diablo 3 Collector's Edition (at reg. price)

So I had my CC# stolen during the crucial period that was when retailers actually had D3:CE in stock and couldn't order it. By the time my damn CC company had it all sorted out and I had my new card, I was SoL and still can't find stock anywhere. I'm willing to do short-lines on release day and/or get up early to go get a copy from a B&M retailer if necessary - I'm just trying to figure out what's gonna give me the best shot at snagging a copy (or two) of Diablo 3: CE on or near release date (without paying a fortune on eBay).

Any help, fellow sd'ers?

why do you want a collectors edition? I mean im planning on going to best buy at midnight (or whenever they release it) and buying a normal. Why would anyone pay more for the same thing?

Some people like getting Collector's Editions - guess I'm one of those people.

I am looking for the same thing, I am wondering whether wallmart at midnight or kmart at opening would be a better bet (only two retailers around here that might stock it without driving 50 miles)
I wants me some collectors edition - (note I think it has sold out because with starcraft 2 collectors edition people were able to sell for double what they paid shortly after it was released) - to play not to ebay!!

Yeah, honestly, I care more about the Diablo account though than I do about the goodies - just because I know I'll have the account forever and tend to lose some things like those that come with CE. I actually got my SC2 CE off of a sd'er through the forums because he just wanted all the extras it came with while I actually cared about the game (he already had an account). So if there's anyone out there who has an extra copy of D3 CE preordered just for the goodies, PM me.

Go to Fry's Electronics. Our local store usually has like 3 sections full of the CEs of Blizzard products at launch.

My Best Buy B&M were still taking orders last week...

Yeah, this is probably going to be one of the first things I try on release day since Fry's doesn't take pre-orders. Problem is that I live in such a big city so there's always gonna be someone who beats you to it, ya' know?

edit: Went to a local Fry's and turns out they just started allowing people to pre-order it two days ago, so I got one! Couldn't do it over the phone though so I had to drive a bit of a ways, which was really odd.

Maybe your Fry's is different, but our local outlets here stock them in gross quantities. All of Los Angeles could pick up their CE copies at one of these stores, and they'd still have a stack of them left to sell.

I just haven't found myself needing to race for a Blizzard CE ever since I made Fry's my go-to store for them. I can buy these games the first day/week/month and they'll still have spare copies after my sale.
