Need help configuring router to work with uverse
Just upgraded and my wireless computer speed went from 4mbps to .5 Att told me to clear my cookies  Thought i'd do some troubleshooting before tech arrives monday to address phone line issue. Computer hooked up directly to uverse router gets 12mbps Tried to hook it up to my old wgt624 router and it can't configure itself like previously so what are some specs i need to change to configure the router to work with uverse? There's no reason why the WGT624 should perform better than the AT&T Wireless Gateway.

according to online forums the uverse router is the worst wifi setup ever so i'm willing to risk it and see what happens.
Here my uverse does see the router and i do have Router-Behind-Router enabled. Device Details Name WGT624 Connection Type Ethernet IP Address 192.168.1.66 IP Address Allocation DHCP IP Address Type Private (NAT) Hardware Address 00:09:5b:ed:af:03 Status On my netgear does not detect anything though at all. |

Probably the easiest way to get this working would be to leave the UVerse router configured as the primary router, then configure the WGT624 as an Access Point by disabling its DHCP server or putting it into Access Point mode if it has that option.
I don't have a UVerse router so I can't give tips on how to configure its Bridge Mode or router-behind-router mode or whatever. |
