ugh tax makes it negligibly cheaper than amazon... if i had a discover card i would probably bite, or if there was some solid 10% or so rebate thing available to me. neither applies, so probably going to wait...

Sam's club had a similar D5100 set in store with 18-55mm lens and as I recall, 55-200mm?? short tele for $849.99. Both are good deals.

Thanks OP. just jumped on it and also used the shop at home cb (thanks qazi)! Been waiting for a long time for this camera to drop in price. Not sure if the new one will be worth the wait and extra money.

If I didn't get the referb one a few months back for $560, I would pick up this. I prefer a brand new one. Good deal for a new one.

Just FYI, thought this made the offer a little more slick for me since I didn't want to spend $700 (with tax) on a camera all at once -

why is this not a frontpage deal.. I haven't seen **New** NIkon D5100 for this low price.. but yeah refurshished are there for $570 etc...
