How do I upgrade Cable Modem Drivers
How do I upgrade Cable Modem Drivers.I have D-Link DCM 202 - I see that there are new drivers available. How would I install them ? The reason I want to upgrade the drivers is :- 1 Because during peak period I loose cable connect for 30 seconds & it is reconnected. It is very annoying when you are on the phone as I use Voip via Vipo - the phone adapter is behind a router - Any suggestions help is much appreciated! |

You only need drivers if your computer is connected to the modem via USB. Is it?
Firmware is the software that runs on the modem itself and upgrading it can sometimes fix issues like what you mention, but a quick glance on the D-Link website didn't show any firmware upgrades. |

And if you are using USB to connect to the cable modem, stop that.

MOst likely you can't on your end.
Try going to... http://192.168.100.1 which should be your modems config page Try dlink/dlink or admin/hitron if prompted. Look for a fimware upload area. |

It sounds to me that you have other issues going on, probably not something a firmware version can fix. Have you changed your wireless channel? Had your ISP out? EtC?
Vague questions receive vague answers . . . . . .

Did you buy this cable modem or did the phone company provide it? If it's the cable companys, then just have them sway it out. If it's yours, did you call the cable company when you bought it and have them provision it?
Either way, have you tried contacting the cable company to troubleshoot the issue? This would be my first step. If you have, what exactly did they say? I believe I've found the solution to obesity in America. Hemispherectomy....no one uses it anyway.
