Highschools have been using Nspires for years now, so I'd imagine this would be perfect. You can also request a TI-84 keyboard from TI for free, basically making this an 84.

get him the TI89 titanium and he can use it throughout college as well

teachers and standardized tests do not like these keyboard calculators, I think this one might be accepted since it does not have a qwerty keyboard, but they are generally frowned upon

Excellent price. I paid about $60 for a used one on ebay a couple of years ago.

My son used his in SAT testing without any problems. He used the standard keyboard from TI though, not the N-Spire keyboard. I don't think he ever used the N-Spire keyboard.

Im a senior in HS and I didn't really need my graphing calculator until I made Advanced Math Analysis and I really really needed it when I hit Calculus BC and I know AB will need it as well. If I were you I'd get a TI-89 because its much more powerful and that will be used much more. And this deal is okay its not great its not bad...the color screened ones came out so thats why they are cheaper now.

Well I think all the ti-84, 89, inspire have a QWERTY keyboard (on the 84 and 89 you have to press alpha)

The nspire CAS is the 'new' ti-89, it still isn't very programmable though, but I don't really see the big deal about programming a calculator anymore when they could program their phone or their computer

I just checked their website and it says that as along as you use the TI-84 keyboard, you can use the Nspire for standardized tests.
