Send an email to the VP of internet commerce. He is very responsive. You should hear back from someone who can help you. As always, be respectful and courteous.

I did this in the past with a dishwasher.

His name is at the bottom of the confirmation email or past purchases or you can google it.

Same thing happened to me order got canceled due to "out of stock".

Never got a confirmation email but the local store called and left a voicemail saying to come by and pick it up, I got the message about 15 min before the store closed so I couldn't make it, took the van with me this AM to pick it up on the way home.

Then after I got to work this morning I got an email saying out of stock, web still shows in stock... Pure BS. Called the 1-800 number and spoke with CS (India). After calmly explaining the situation I was transfered to a MGR (US), this MGR spoke with a higher mgr and they agreed to a "one time exception" to match the price from yesterday. We'll see... They claim the store canceled it...

My order did go through, but they changed the store location to one 45 minutes away and said they couldn't change the store to the one I requested (which had none in stock). They also said they couldn't get any more so they could cancel my order or I could pick it up at the farther location and they'd give me a $25 gift card. I need to call to let them know I accept the offer because I don't think there are good alternatives at this price point.

Will second this. Have had it for several years. First road trip was through a torrential rain storm. The carrier was filled with wrapped Christmas gifts. Everything stayed dry. We've probably had it for 6-7 years and never had a problem.

Same thing happened to me-was in stock yesterday and they accepted my order. Today its OOS but helpfully offered me to repurchase at full price-grr.

I called customer service and they actually called the store and confirmed definitely not OOS, and replaced my order at the sale price. I'm mad at the attempt here, but happy at the service and fix.

You saved a customer Sears.

Thanks for the advice. I just did what you suggested. Do you recall how long it took for Sears or this person to respond to you? Just curious. Might have to call like others have to get quick response!

Probably about a day or so. I'd recommend calling as others have had success with that. For me and the dishwasher, calling was futile, so I resorted to emailing, and it worked (surprisingly).

Just picked up the re-order, no issues. The guy had no idea as to why they told me the store told them they were out of stock as they had about 10 in the back.

So if you want it just call the 1-800 number on the original confirmation if the local store won't honor it.

Update on mine: I went to the store the customer service rep stated she replaced my order to and gues what, they didn't have the order (of course). The store that did have it was right down the road however, so I trekked there.

And sure enough, they have it in stock. But instead of the sale price the rep stated she would charge, she in fact already charged it the full non-sale, non-coupon price! Thankfully, the good folks at the store itself were able to look up my original cancelled order and refund the difference however.

So...a good price was ultimately honored, but bait and switch initial cancel and subsequent issues = meh?

Sears seemingly transferring to ChiCom made tools instead of US-made ones is worrying enough.

Well, this is no longer painless. I drove up to the store to pick it up and they said they didn't have any. I asked why the customer service rep said that they had 5 in stock, the employee replied, "We have 5 broken one in the back." "Really, you have 5 broker cargo boxes in the back? I drove an hour to come get this. Why are those not marked out of your inventory, so you can avoid situations like this?" The salesperson didn't know... Anyhow, I called the 800 number back and complained. The store manager is now supposed to be hunting one down for me. We'll see...
