Trumka lowers expectations in Scott Walker fight "It's not a test-run [for labor]," Trumka, president of the AFL-CIO, told Newsmakers when asked about his efforts to defeat Walker. "They're going to spend more money probably in Wisconsin -- the Koch brothers and Karl Rove and everybody -- than they're going to do in most other states," Trumka also said, as he said a Walker victory would not have any bearing on President Obama's prospects in the state. Trumka argued that, whether Walker wins or loses, the unions have already succeeded in intimidating other state legislatures and governors into avoiding the union reforms that Walker undertook. "Would you like to take this fight on?" he asked, rhetorically. "A year after you were in office, woudl you like to be in the fight of your life, spending $25-30 million to hold onto a seat that you were supposed to have for four years . . . would that embolden you? Not if you're sane and rational it wouldn't." Intimidating is right. The public sector unions have been bullying everyone in their path for decades as they plundered the treasury. But great men like Scott Walker have stood up for the people and counterpunched the unions. |

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker: Funded by the Koch Bros. [motherjones.com]

as opposed to how many that are funded by George Soros and the dozens of his front groups (mediamatters, center for progress, etc etc)? What about the other billionaires who fund other democrats ? Warren Buffet? Ted Turner? Oprah Winfrey? need I go on? What is this hypocrisy on the part of you and your ilk with complaints and self-righteous indignation about billionaires supporting republicans, when you have the same thing (if not more so) on the democrats' side? ![]() The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But under the name of 'liberalism',they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened - Norman Thomas,6-time presidential candidate for the Socialist Party of America The federal government has taken too much tax money from the people, too much authority from the States, and too much liberty with the Constitution - R. Reagan |

What's big about them, exactly? Scott Walker has raised roughly $13 million from thousands of Americans. The number provided by these koch brothers is quite small. Obama got much more money from Goldman Sachs in 2008. |

Scott Walker Gets Punked By Journalist Pretending To Be David Koch [huffingtonpost.com] Think he'd take your call after your $100 donation?

I have no idea whether Scott Walker would take my call. What I do know is that he is serving the people well in fighting against the unions who do me harm. What exactly do you think an 'individual contributor' is? |

Well, many Democrats are now confronting public sector unions and their high costs. It isn't just Republicans. It doesn't get the press as Gov. Walker has received, but it is a necessity, states are going broke.
It does not surprise me that the union boss is saying what he is. He will likely loose business. If unions are not able to stop needed reforms, people will wonder why pay dues to join unions. One example ~ "Another Domino Falls in Dem War on Blue" http://blogs.the-american-interes...r-on-blue/ snippet:

Walker tuned Wisconsin around from a $4 BILLION deficit to a surplus, IN ONE YEAR, along with a lower unemployment rate than the country average....he took over a state in much the same position as next-door Illinois....since then he has turned Wisconsin around by cutting spending and confronting the unions, while Illinois went the usual Democrat tax-and-regulate way, and thus have made no headway whatsoever.
The question is, will the unions and their thugs, rent-a-mobs, and rent-a-voter schemes produce enough sheep to get rid of him, or will the mainstream citizens of the state who have benefited from his actions with a markedly improved economy and jobs situation wake up and show up in enough numbers to counter the union rent-a-voters and brainless sheep? that remains to be seen.
