My wife has an advanced degree in Spanish, has been studying it for recreationally for years, and is STILL too shy to use it in public.

Since we live in Florida, the opportunity for Spanish conversation is great, and I being her outgoing "gringo guapo" try to start as many (comically inept on my end) conversations as possible for her "in the wild."

Chalk this up as another opportunity for me to nuture her dreams!

Even though the magazine is En Espanol, it is a nicemagazine to get because it often comes with good Coupon sections or inserts from major manufacturers such as Proctor & Gamble or Kraft. After I take out whatever coupons there may be and clip out the address, I also order several subscritpions so I can donate them to local Emergency Rooms, My local Mammogram Imaging Center, Hospitals, and other places people are forced to wait a long time like so, the food bank not too far from where I work. people wait there ALL day. We often drop off used books there too.

Actually, lately I've been using one of those obliteration stamps a friend gave me that X's out your address and then after I do that, I cover up the address section with a white sticker. It sounds silly to go to that trouble but it makes the magazines look less raggedy and my officer just throws away these half-sheets of sticker paper from their shipping label print-outs so I take them home and re-purpose them to help better cover up the addy label and prevent their waste.

I just print out "Magazines donated for patient use in loving memory of________" and insert the name of a friend I want to honor. If I don't bother with that, I just print out stacks that say "Magazine donated for the use of Patients" and place that over the obliterated address to help keep things neat and so the staff knows those magazines were a gift. Otherwise they sometimes toss them, thinking they were "left behinds".

So.. it's a nice Free magazine to flip through even if your spanish isn't that great. I like the Hairstyle & make-up articles as well as the recipes and fashion sections. It's more pictures than words and anything you don't understand you can have translated by going to the digital version, copying in cut n paste and then translating via google.
