Legend of the Time Star: A Retro Action RPG (Kickstarter)

Has anyone else seen anything about this one? I saw it mentioned on Kotaku somewhere.

The screenshot on the main page first put me in mind of the action sections from Actraiser. Looking at the developer diary [tumblr.com] it mentions the Dungeons and Dragons: Shadow over Mystara arcade game, the Metroidian Castlevanias, and such.
I'm definitely interested, but not sure if I'm into it for ten bucks when I don't know who these guys are.

Ok, so the characters are less detailed, there is 1 character instead of 6, not multiplayer, it's straight 2d with no foreground/background movement... Scratchhead

I admit, they got the "guy with sword moving generally sideways" part of D&D SoM down pat.

I'll keep my eye on it, but the game needs more. I'm all for making re-creations, parodies, or tributes, but at least make them somewhat comparable to the originals.

Anyone here use an on-line multiplayer capable MAME front end? If so, what one?

I figure your choices are pretty much between MAMEHub or MAMEUIFX tho...

Not that there was much interest here, but I'll probably post if there's solid news on the game being released in the future.
