Gift for Professors Anyways, I'm graduating in couple of weeks with my M.A.. I would like to give my thesis chair a gift as a gesture of appreciation as completing my thesis wasn't possible without her being my advisor. What would be the great gift to give professors? How much is too much to spend? (I do not want her to feel uncomfortable). I'm thinking of flowers or a gift card to local restaurants. Are they too generic? Also, I'm not sure if giving a gift card is okay (although they are not hard cash...). Any idea is appreciated!! |

Your thesis has it's own chair? It must be huge. </MLV>
![]() Seriously, IMHO a hearty handshake and a sincere thank you should be enough. Then if you want to get crazy, I'd give them a nice handwritten card or note. It really depends on your relationship with them as to whether a gift would seem awkward in a situation like this. |

![]() In any case, make sure that you don't inadvertently get your advisor in trouble! |
