This looks like it could almost be a mini-HTPC. Does anyone know if this puppy has the power to wirelessly stream HD content? It's Android, so it seems you should be able to use an app like UPnPlay and PS3Server.
edit: Just did some research. Reviews don't look that great. It seems like it's a half-baked build of Android and doesn't even have the full support of Logitech. The market doesn't seem to be fully accessible. Seems like it needs some help from the XDA community. What a shame. Last edited by kechinbou!; 05-07-2012 at 11:30 PM.. |

anyone know if this plays media files over an NAS? I know my android phone was able to pick up my NAS with a particular app, but that took a lot of configuration and was generally a pain in the butt to access.
Also, MKV files? Streams 1080p without a hitch? It is listed as a supported device for prime instant video, so I'm going to assume Hulu+ and Netflix also work. Will it play files off a USB drive like my western digital box? Edit: Answered some of my own questions... from an Amazon Review: "Other benefits I have. Streaming my media from my networked PC's to the revue. I just power up any pc in the house that contains the media I want and is shared (windows 7 and windows media center make it rather easy..even though im not a MS fan..but thats how it is). Use the logitech media player app and it will see any networked device sharing media. Pictures, music or videos. You can even use one of the two usb ports to connect an external hard drive with media and it supports a wide range of formats." So it will play off an NAS I suppose Last edited by blaze1984; 05-07-2012 at 11:35 PM.. |

Just bought a Roku yesterday. Seems like a bunch of crap on it, only thing half way decent that free is Crackle. Facebook you can only see pictures. Not what I was thinking it would be. I was hoping to get whole variety of content that i'd actually watch. Wondering if i should go for this and return the Roku?

Logitech media player will play all of those formats from a NAS (mine does), as well as an attached USB drive (as long as 2TB or smaller). Hulu works, Hulu + does not (Hulu's choice). Netflix works, Amazon works. Amazing device. Plays stuff that Xbox 360 cant. |

I'd go for this if they had Hulu+. (Well, I'd get one for Grandma...)
From everything I've read, it's a pretty decent box. GoogleTV has taken a LONG time to get to a good place, and apparently it's either there or really close (depending on whom you believe) but there are sooo many good options out there that I'm not sure GTV is the way to go at this point. |
