That review is completely dated. It's been updated with new firmware.

The Revue is great. Always on it gives you instant access to the internet and android apps on your tv without booting anything up.

That is a review of old software once it's updated to Android 3.1 it works great and plays every video file i've thrown at it

What about 3D content. We just got a new 3D tv, I imagine the HDMI spec of the Revue doesn't support 3D, correct?

It shows a menu "3D world" which is probably Google TV 3d apps or content, I imagine. So is this accessible on the Revue?

EDIT: Google says that the LG is the first (only?) that will have 3d world

I used this as a computer. Basic browsing too internet. Netflix. YouTube. Connected to a 20" decent. But you can't dl any Android app on this device.

i don't really need one.... but very tempting. I don't need to have digital cable TV to use this right? i can just use it for browsing and watching content online right?

Yea, from the video on youtube you only need a cab;e box if you want to include live tv with it.

will this do Netfix 5.1

can you FF through Youtube vids?

I don't have cable TV, will it still be worth it?

How does this compare with WDTV Live? I'd be willing to retire the WDTV Live and get this if it really can handle all the media over the network like WDTV Live and can play WTV files that WDTV cannot play.

I can't tell if that was a rhetorical question, but no, Hulu does not work out of the box. Nor do I believe there is even an easy hack for this.
