Nothing wrong with DPMS but you're entitled to your opinion.

Looks like Grabagun has them for $576 shipped but they are currently out of stock. Thanks for the gun post we can never have too many of them.

Thanks for the AR deal. DPMS is definitely not my cup of tea, but if folks want to spend money on it then so be it. As b3astmaster said, probably fine for an occasional range toy but that's about it. Keep the gun posts coming!!

Yes DPMS is a budget brand AR, but this is the cheapest I've seen ANY AR in a long time.

Can you specifically describe the issues with it? I've searched for issues with DPMS that were explicit and didn't find much. Most of it seemed to be opinion from people that never tried the brand. I make that akin to having to have the latest Jordan shoes although the knock-offs are made in the same factory, same materials & workmanship, but because the knock-offs are not 'the "brand", they are somehow inferior.

No biggie. I bought this gun about 3 yrs ago and have yet to get it to the range. I know, that's a sin right there but I dont think the bolt is fitting correctly (seems as if it hangs a little when it goes back) and wanted to get it to a smitty first to see if it is OK to fire or if I should return it to DPMS (I think it has a lifetime warranty I'll have to check that out later).

BTW guys I'm no gun expert nor do I claim it. Please be kind if I worded anything wrong.

It is a great starter AR. Slap a red dot on there and you are good to go. I sold mine for $700 with a nice primary arms red dot. I currently own a Daniel Defense M4v5.

Decent rifle at an amazing price, TU from me. Glad to see more gun stuff on SD

My experience has been the opposite. They are a quality branch when they get their machining right. Their problem lies in their consistency.

I have a DPMS lower that was made before any political panics. It is just as nice as any other MFG Mil-Spec AR-15 lower.

I have seen several others with rough magwells way out of spec, magwells that would not accept PMags, large sharp burrs still left on a finish-coated lower. Their parts kits are some of the worst I've ever seen. They have nice packaging in the cardboard backed blister pack. I bought one for 89.99 (ouch!) during the 2008 panic and it was missing four pieces. They made good in sending me the missing parts but I used replacement parts from Brownells to finish the build.

I would consider them a budget class company. There are nicer rifles for the same or a little more money.

Their AR-10s seem to have a pretty die-hard following, though. I have little experience with those.
